Overall Cost Structure

  • Raw Material Costs: This constitutes the largest share. For leading listed companies, this typically ranges from 50% to 77%; specific examples include Dongcai Technology (74.8%), Yuxing Shares (76.6%), and Ping'an Electrical (51.2%).
  • Labor Costs: This share is relatively low, ranging from approximately 3.1% to 13.6% for leading enterprises; the higher the level of automation, the lower this proportion.
  • Manufacturing Overheads and Other Costs:These include equipment depreciation, energy consumption, and environmental protection expenditures, accounting for approximately 19.8% to 35.1% of costs for leading enterprises.

Cost Differences by Product Category

  • Insulation Mats: Costs per square meter are approximately 60–100 RMB for natural rubber, 40–70 RMB for styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), and 100–200 RMB for silicone rubber; costs are even higher for high-voltage industrial-grade products.
  • Insulators: The cost of ceramic insulators is heavily influenced by the prices of bulk raw materials (such as clay and bauxite) and energy; the cost of composite insulators is directly linked to chemical raw materials like silicone rubber and core rods.
  • Insulation Protection Products: Costs start at approximately 1.7 RMB per meter for standard-material products, while products with high voltage and temperature resistance ratings can exceed 50 RMB.
  • Motor Insulation Components: Core insulation materials such as mica tape and polyimide film cost approximately 55 RMB and 350 RMB per kilogram, respectively, accounting for over 90% of the costs associated with coil insulation.
